Use your Step Up scholarship for Study Naturally

If your child has a PEP or FES-UA scholarship from Step Up For Students, you may be able to pay for Study Naturally from it. You pay as usual, then ask Step Up to reimburse you with the invoice from your dashboard.

Which scholarships can be used

Step Up For Students runs Florida’s scholarships. Two of them let families spend their funds on learning at home, and both list online learning programs and educational software among the things you can buy.

Personalized Education Program (PEP)

For home education students. PEP can’t pay for full-time online schooling, and Study Naturally isn’t that: it’s a tutor your child learns with alongside what you teach.

FES-UA

The Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities, for children with a qualifying diagnosis or plan.

The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship and FES-EO mostly pay private school tuition. If you have one of those, check your handbook or ask Step Up before you buy.

What your invoice shows

Step Up asks for a clear breakdown of what you paid. Each invoice has:

  • The date you paid, with the year
  • The plan you bought and its price
  • Any tax and the total
  • That it was paid in full

How to get paid back

You pay for Study Naturally, then send Step Up your invoice and they reimburse you from your child’s scholarship.

    Before you buy

    Check your scholarship is funded

Sign in to your Step Up account and make sure this school year’s funds are there. Purchases for 2026–27 need to be made between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027.

    When you’re ready

Choose a plan and pay as usual

Try the tutor free for 14 days first if you like. Then choose the Family or Homeschool plan and pay by card. Nothing changes about how you use Study Naturally.

    After each payment

    Download your invoice

Open Billing in your dashboard. Every payment has a PDF invoice showing the date, the plan, the amount, any tax, and that it was paid in full.

    Then

Ask Step Up to pay you back

Start a reimbursement request in your Step Up account and attach the invoice. Make one request for each child with a scholarship.

    If they ask

    Answer any questions

Step Up reviews every request and may ask for more detail about what you bought. Email us and we’ll send whatever helps.

When the whole family shares a plan

The Family and Homeschool plans cover you and several children. Step Up reimburses each scholarship student’s share of a family plan, up to what a plan for one person would cost. The share for you and for children without a scholarship isn’t covered.

So if one of three children has a scholarship, expect to be paid back part of the price, not all of it.

Not sure? Ask Step Up first

They can tell you what your child’s scholarship covers before you spend anything.

FAQ

Questions about paying with a scholarship

Is Study Naturally an approved Step Up provider?

Not yet, but we’re working on it. Until then you won’t find us in MyScholarShop or Find Providers, and Step Up can’t pay us directly, so paying yourself and asking to be reimbursed is the way to use your scholarship.

Will my reimbursement be approved?

We can’t promise that. Step Up decides what each scholarship covers and reviews every request. If you’re unsure, call Step Up on 877-735-7837 before you buy and ask whether an online learning program like Study Naturally is covered for your child.

Does it count as tutoring?

Study Naturally is an online learning program, sold as a subscription. Its tutor is software, not a person, so it isn’t tutoring by a credentialed tutor in Step Up’s sense. Step Up decides which category your purchase falls under.

Should I pay monthly or yearly?

Either gives you an invoice for every payment. Yearly saves 17%, but Step Up has rules about paying for services ahead of time, so ask them how a yearly subscription is treated before you choose it.

Can I use my scholarship for the free trial?

There’s nothing to claim. The 14-day trial is free and needs no card, so you can see how the tutor teaches before you spend anything.

We live outside Florida. Can we use our state’s program?

Several states have education savings accounts or scholarships that can pay for learning programs, and each has its own rules. We’re working on becoming an approved vendor for several of them. See where we are with each state on our state funds page, or email hello@studynaturally.com about yours.

Study Naturally isn’t part of or endorsed by Step Up For Students. What each scholarship covers, and whether a request is approved, is decided by Step Up and can change from year to year. Check your program handbook and purchasing guide, or ask Step Up, before you count on being reimbursed.
